Lot 1 Heifer
Sire: Italian Stallion
Dam: Manchild
Birthdate: April
Breed: Comercial
Comments:
Talk about wow factor & cattle that make you stop and go whoa!! This heifer is built nearly identical to Travis Shanks Family 2016 Iowa State Fair Grand Champion Market Heifer that was sired by Monopoly. Probably the best structured calf we have seen in 2016. We feel she would be best fit for Minnesota State Fair, Nebraska State Fair, Kansas State Fair or AKSARBEN for her end point goal. The new owner gets to decide on September 13!
Lot 2 Heifer
Sire: One In The Chamber
Dam: I-67 (3/4 Maine Anjou)
Birthdate: March
Breed: Maintainer
Comments:
One In The Chamber has got the whole country talking in 2016! Some of the top show families in the country are purchasing One In The Chamber progeny for their new show strings including Sara Sullivan of Dunlap, Iowa! This unique One In The Chamber female is our favorite Maintainer breeding heifer type that we have seen. Study the video and watch that rocket front end and how she gets out and flexes off of both ends with extreme freedom of movement. Descending from a 3/4 Maine Anjou donor purchased from top cattleman Jason Minnaert and Willie Weis of Illinois. This show heifer is a reminder of why other bull owners are willing to spend $150,000 to purchase genetics they can boast are full brothers to the powerful One In The Chamber! Pull up a chair and own her on sale night!
Lot 3 Steer
Sire: Ready 2 Rumble
Dam: Simmi/Angus
Birthdate: March
Breed: Maine Anjou
Comments:
It’s been our experience that when you use Ready 2 Rumble in your breeding program, you get one of two different types of cattle: 1.) you can get cattle that look like 5/8 Maine Anjou sired cattle that are flatter muscled and plainer made and 2.) you can get stout, hairy, good structured calves that feed out as good as any sire group in the business. Just ask Tejlor Strope who just won Nebraska State Fair steer show or Andrew Hodges who won the Kansas State AGR in 2015 or Abi Henderson who was Reserve Grand Champion at 2015 Iowa Beef Expo. This steer reminds us of those 3. Own him on sale night.
Lot 4 Heifer
Sire: Dakota Gold
Dam: Milkman
Birthdate: March
Breed: Commercial
Comments:
Dakota Gold & Run For The Roses are our top THF & PHAF sires for raising steers and heifers with extra stoutness. We think this female has a lot of potential in the show ring and she is going to be outstanding donor after her show career concludes. The steer raising kind.
Lot 5 Steer
Sire: Italian Stallion
Dam: Shorthorn
Birthdate: March
Breed: Cross
Comments:
Blue is our daughter Matilyn’s favorite color! This guy is really easy going and first year 4-H’er gentle. If you are looking for a bigger framed steer that will be ready for an end point by July next summer, blue should be your favorite color on sale night!
Lot 6 Heifer
Sire: Italian Stallion
Dam: Mossy Oak
Birthdate: March
Breed: Comercial
Comments:
This will be the best lot 6 we sell all fall. She came in late on sale week and most weeks would be a featured lot 1. She is the show heifer kind, plenty of rib and a smooth shoulder to go along with an extra stylish front end. Her best feature is the way she floats across the sale pen with freedom of movement. Study the video and pay attention here, we feel she will be featured as a show winner in 2016/2017 on the MLC blog.
Lot 7 Steer
Sire: Monopoly 5
Dam: Simmi/Angus
Birthdate: April
Breed: Comercial
Comments:
Everybody loves a baldy! This steer will not need to be fed any optaflex or other muscle developers, he is stout! Haired or slick, we feel this guy would work really well for a fall show and make an exceptional fat steer.
Lot 8 Steer
Sire: I-67
Dam: Heat Wave
Birthdate: April
Breed: Maine Anjou & Chi
Comments:
Holdover! These I-67 steers are some of our favorites year after year. This steer has a powerful square hip and extra stylish front end. He’s sure to sell for pennies now and a major premium this winter during holdover sale season. Study the video, he is tough to poke a hole in!
